HR 224 (Rep. Stover, 71st, R)

This Constitutional Amendment changes the selection process for members of the state board of education to election by the voters in each individual congressional district beginning January 1, 2019.  It authorizes the General Assembly to provide by enabling legislation for shorter initial terms to establish staggerd terms of office.

Currently, members of the State Board of Education are appointed by the governor from each of Georgia's congressinoal districts.
